I have made several cabinets for my daughter to fit in alcoves in her house in Birmingham. I have also made a bar and storage unit for my son and daughter in law.
More recently I have started trying to make furniture from barrel staves. The lights came first then the bar stool, table and small bench.

My local awards
I regularly check my emails and was amazed to find a message saying I had been nominated as East midlands furniture maker of the year. Initially I was not going to do anything, but the kids insisted I should make the effort to see where the process took me.
Firstly I am very flattered that someone has taken the trouble to nominate myself and think my efforts are worthy of recognition, it validates the work I have been doing. I feel my work has progressed from simple mdf/ply cabinets to barrel stave and solid oak benches and tables. In terms of popularity the floor lamp has caused the most comment.
